I happen to be obsessed with the guitar tone found in the title track from Thin Lizzy's Jailbreak. It doesn't get much better than that. Speaking of Jailbreak, have any of you seen that early 70s promo-video for AC/DC's Jailbreak? It's fucking hilarious (and ends with Bon being gun downed by Malcom right as he makes it out...with a bullet in his back).

NOT CRAP, I guess, but I rarely feel compelled to listen to them. I guess I like my rock music to kick ass, and Thin Lizzy very rarely kick ass. Most of the time, they just kinda "boogie."

I don't think Thin Lizzy is bad, by any means, but I think I'd just rather listen to AC/DC or The Monorchid or something else most of the time, y'know?

EDIT: I also feel it neccessary to mention that the odds of a Jailbreak occuring at the jail are very good.

Thin Lizzy
Shades of a Blue Orphanage
Vagabonds of the Western World
Jailbreak
Johnny the Fox
Live and Dangerous

I recommend each of these records without reservation. There is much more to enjoy in the Lizzy catalogue, but any one of these records will provide an excellent introduction to the finest melodic hard rock band of the 1970's.

This thread has interested my pique. I'll check them out.

Has anyone heard the song Gabrielle on the latest Ween album? If I heard it on the radio I'd swear blind it was Thin Lizzy.

Also, my grandads sister claims she used to babysit for a young Phil Lynott. Never trust the memory of the Irish though.
