The show didn't exactly end as much as it devolved until Bobby was standing near the lanes with his face against the wall crying, with mascara running down his face.
I know theres a degree of shitck to it all but it was a pleasurable, weird experience to have an anti-climatic, un-happy ending to a New Years' Eve show.
Bobby Conn put on one of the best shows I've ever seen opening for Trans Am at the Talking Head in Baltimore... the band (sans Bobby) came on and did requests until Bobby himself showed up, whereupon he made some derogatory remarks about how "things might have been different" if he'd known the Talking Head was the ex-Ottobar, and the owner of the club then rushed the stage saying "in that case you can just leave."
They did.
