Decided to put on Zen Arcade tonight while taking my kids to baseball practice. I haven't listened to it in a while, maybe 6 months? It didn't sound trebly at all, if anything it sounded like the was some hi roll off happening. I started to question if my hearing was that fucked now, and if it's 'cause I'm old, or from too much drumming. Then I realized the Fader Balance was set 100% to the rear of the car from a previous trip where my kids were listening to a podcast. So I guess my hearing is fucked, cause it took me a while to figure it out, but at least I did recognize something was way off. Also, this means I was absolutely blasting Zen Arcade right at my kids ears to get it to sufficient loudness upfront (for a couple songs anyway.)

Metal Circus is so great. It makes up for any lame thing they ever did. The guitar intro to “Real World” makes me feel about 10 ft tall.

Very elemental band in my life. Growing up east of Minneapolis, Husker Du just gets in the water. Plenty of questionable material, but the great stuff gives me the chills. I don't even mind the strange sounding production. Not Crap, No Waffles.

I still have a copy of Flip Your Wig, which I kept just for "Find Me" (I'm realizing now, probably because it reminds me of Caribou by the Pixies).
I'll probably never put the A side on as to not risk hearing "Hate Paper Doll" ever again.

New Day Rising has been played around me ad nauseum for decades, and I just find it unlistenable.
Zen Arcade doesn't bother me.

The overwhelming NC response here is what I expected.
I guess I just had to know for sure, how totally alone I was in how I feel about this band.
