Bumping this. I drum in a whole mess of bands, but am missing playing guitar and/or bass in one. Recording, playing shows (local/out of town) - all in the cards.

Looking for folks who are into the following, but aren't 100% trying to sound like:

Lungfish, Harry Pussy, Bailter Space, Delta 5.

Chicago folks - get in touch.
Jazz Titan/Ruthie Cohen

Current -
Future Living / Daddy's Boy / Blank Banker / Solo

Fomer -
Hungry Man / No Trust / Retreaters

My current instrumental psych/jazz/post-rock band is taking an "indefinite hiatus," as they say. I play bass and keys primarily, and generally serve as technician and engineer in every band I've played in.

I have almost no desire to play shows. Touring is out of the question. I've got a full-time job and a family, so this is a nights/weekends sort of thing for me. I'm a studio rat at heart, so I'm at my best when I'm writing with others while the tape is rolling and crafting songs around whatever sticks.

I have a general idea of the kind of stuff I want to play. Heavier shoegazy slowcore stuff, ala Codeine or True Widow, but maybe with a dash of early eno electronic bleep bloops. NOTHING OVER 80 BPM.

Either that, or a straight-up Hot Snakes ripoff. NOTHING UNDER 140 BPM.

I'm in SE Michigan and have a basement practice space/studio, but wouldn't necessarily be opposed to a long distance project. Pretty sure I know every PRF-related person in this area, but maybe not. GAMYF.

I'm in Central NY (Ithaca) so I'm guessing in person isn't going to happen with anyone here, but if anyone wants some drums added to stuff they've been working on it's something I enjoy doing and feeling like I'm getting better at all the time.

I am in DFW, so....this is a useless post other than to say that True Widow (who live here I think, I know Dan used to at least) just came on through the playlist I am listening to, and my thoughts were "Fuck, this is really representative of a lot of what I want to do - Bedhead through a Doom lens" and how I should rip them off more. Alas, nothing I write is close to that, except for the 80 BPM limit, but reading that band in this post pretty immediately after I had this thought was encouraging.

Dan's also an excellent carpenter/woodworker whose IG is worth following to see some of the cool shit he does.

San Francisco Bay Area specifically Sonoma/Napa County

I am really tired of making music on my own and would like to bring some of the Lame Kites music live, and/or I am also open to new directions in relatively the same vein. Noisy, melodic, sometime catchy, sometimes heavy, sometimes Americana-ish.

I would like to find a drummer and a bass player to put together a live band that wants to play a handful of shows a year. Would be extremely satisfied to do a couple long weekend runs per year, play a PRF BBQ for once in my life and recording. I have a family and a full time job so time is limited and availability is specific. I would love to play with some enthusiastic, prepared and efficient individuals. I am not the greatest guitar player, but I am a reliable solid rhythm player. I think I come up with decent ideas and am willing to be a vocalist. Can also play serviceable bass. I have recording gear.

We'd probably get along nicely if you like This Heat, Hot Snakes, Gang of Four, Upper Wilds, Sonic Youth, Superchunk, GBV, Marked Men, Four Tet, High on Fire and you think 3-piece drum kits are the appropriate sized kit.

We probably would not get along if you're into conspiracy theories, Dream Theater, Joe Bonamassa, Megadeth, too many pedals, cocaine or Jesus.

Hi, can you drum to this? The idea is to create constantly evolving, organic layered drones/wall of sound. Relying heavily on the SOMA Cosmos which I have set on 4 asynchronous delay lines. And I like the idea of it being heavy-ish for lack of a better word. Could definitely use a rhythmic element to ground things and tie stuff together. Totally loose and improvised. Less about prescribed/premeditated “songs” and more about creating an experience.

I’m located just across the city line from Chicago. Open to long distance collaborations but since the nature of things tends to be chaotic and ephemeral, I feel the ability to practice and perform in the same room is essential, at least sometimes. Recording in an actual studio would be fantastic too.

Also note: the first 30-40 seconds of this video is kinda harsh as I am feeding the delay, this is raw footage recorded directly into my phone(no post production or overdubs) but that’s how it is.

Wine optional.
