one of the rare male actors who is perennially underrated due to being too hot. sharon stone comes to mind.

I love Sharon Stone. I can't get behind Leo being a "Great" actor. Mid at best. Sometimes kinda bad.

I just looked and didn't realize how many PTA's there were after The Master - I have seen everything up through that and nothing after, tho Licorice Pizza has been on my Plex since Spring, and I keep meaning to suggest it whenever we're deciding what to watch.

Thinking about seeing this tomorrow night - would really like to catch a theater showing even if it's just a regular screen - no more 70mm in Dallas that I can find.

DiCaprio is not ugly, that’s kind of a wild thing to say!

One Battle After Another was much better than Inherent Vice.

The way PTA put the sound of children playing in a depiction of an ICE facility was beautiful and heartbreaking. And the dad at the parent teacher conference - relatable! Lotta great stuff. I don’t know if it was a great movie but its a perfect movie for the times.

He was less successful with his outright depiction of radical politics, I think. I get it, this is as good as its ever going to get in this climate - I love the movie, love that is was made, love that we’re talking about it - but I think there’s always going to be this remove when hollywood liberals grapple with politics within the major studio ecosystem that is always going to be there.

Thinking of Dicaprio referencing “both sides” extremism on red carpets in 2025 - I wish that were the case. There were… pseudo-Fight Club/Joker vibes at times - I don’t think Hollywood can really ever address political radicalism or even radicals the way literature can. I used to think it was a Gen-X thing but I need to ease up on you twerps. One Battle transcends all that but I kind of got these whiffs here and there that I try to ignore. Obviously it got a whole lot right.

There was one part in particular that set off alarm bells, but I’ll refrain from any outright spoilers.

I think everyone should watch it, its a ray of hope at least. The 3 hr run time FLEW by
