hey dude, I actually just posted a question about the VF160. I'm guessing that you have this one for the same reasons I do-because it's cheap and it works! anyway, for a project studio, you may want to invest in a 'puter, at least for mixing. So I concur with the rest of these dudes. anyway, check out my question if you can-i'm having a hard time with the effects sens on this thing.

Another thing to take into account is if you want to be compatable with other studios as to be able to work in multiple places. I for one have a mac protools set up and have a friend with a great place to mix. Therefore, making the switch from my place to his is very very easy... too easy really. I just bring my hard drive and plug in to his system and my session open right up. There are many great places in Chicago I can go and have my sessions supported. I know if there were people who wanted to track themselves but mix at Electrical or track at Electrical and do over dubs at their own place, they would need the proper format to do so. It is one more thing to think about when you are on this end of buying your big ticket equipment pieces.
