Imagine being precious about where garbage is. What a waste of calories.

I mean that on your neighbors part. We have bulk trash once a month here, and I'll pick up debris from all over when I see it and just.......put it with the other garbage in front of my house. Like who gives a shit?

Holy shit I caught so much hell from my in laws for admitting that I did this. IT'S TRASH!

I have a big dog and I have been picking her poop up for 11 years on our walks, I always throw it in whatever trash can is nearby. My buddy who lives across town told me that he tossed his dog's bag in a can while they were walking down their alley and the owner came out and said if he didnt go back and get the bag he would come out with his gun. So now I just hold the bag the whole walk until I get back. Would hate for my death to have the headline "Man Shot For Throwing Away Dog Shit"

I know its always been bad, but I feel like people are just getting worse. No wonder we can't have community when everyone thinks everyone else is trying to fuck them over all the time (which sadly I get, but it is deeply depressing).

I put an apple core in a private bin a month ago. Reading these posts I will not do it again. No gun nuts here to be sure, but with the possible future fusion between yesterday's american cultural imperialism and today's xenophobia I do not take chances.

Never had an encounter like that but we were consistently the only people on our Chicago block who wouldn't be overflowing with 2 liter bottles, beer boxes, diaper bags, and fucking TV boxes for some reason. Sometimes I would find stuff in our (typically 1/3 full) cans that clearly wasn't ours but as long as we had some room for our stuff I didn't care. But sheesh, the way some people live..

Our neighbours generate more garbage every week than I think I can generate in a month if I tried. They have kids, and you described the waste contents to a Tee. Sometimes it overflows to ours and if it isn't meat waste swarming with maggots, I don't mind. They're also fighting at full volume once a week, and have some sort of junk yard going on behind the house that is in constant rotation of random large, value-less items. Whenever we talk to them, they couldn't be nicer. Their kids are funny.

Yes, even worse when they are on that thin strip between the sidewalk and street that actually belongs to the city. Oh, and these people are very often the ones have Republican candidate signs in their yards, shock of the century there..

Yeah that all sounds very familiar. They were 'nice' even though I'd awkwardly slip away when the conversation (ironically) turned towards "the dirty Mexicans" on the block. I'll give them credit for eventually getting rid of the above ground pool at least..

Nothing like dog shit to really get a conversation going!
