brings up a recent idea. I have an older Squier Classic Vibe bass VI. I was thinking of selling/trading in one to get a replacement for it
Dunno. I like a Bass 6 but I'm really into anything else as an option just cause everybody got a Bass 6 these days. I personally really want the Ibanez Artstar Baritone, but I know the simi hollow ain't for everyone.

That's a nice guitar, I haven't seen those before. I'd play a semi-hollow, but for my use I'd want the 30" scale so I could tune it E to E more easily

thanks for this, I didn't realize the necks were different

I only started thinking about doing this because Squier made a Bass VI FSR version that has a maple neck with block inlays:

A tonal change, but also look at it. It looks amazing.

Pros:
- fender is supposed to be better.
- better color (fiesta red or powder blue vs sunburst)
- maybe retains value better, if that matters

Cons
- collapse of civil society when Gulf War 3 with Iran starts
- extra money spent on it doesn’t mean I’ll platt it more
- some new squiers have marching headstocks. The vintera fender does not
- money times are a little on the light side the cd[*]c

What do you think?
I did this last summer and found the Vintera to be a huge upgrade and something I like to play much more. IF you can get one of the Vintera IIs while theyre blowing them out for $874, its a no brainer imo. I sold my Squier for $400, so the difference is only $474 AND I bet the resale value of the Vintera II will go up after the new stock are all sold out.

Verdict: Justified 💸

@tylerdeadpine I don’t usually like the blocks either. For some reason I like them on the FSR

I'm weird about the Baritone/bass 6 divide. If I want that low E I'll play bass. The sweet spot for these beasties is A-A or B-B. C-C even.

Yeah I went back and forth with my Danelectro type baritone but I think it depends on the guitar and rig. The low E on a Bass VI can sound kinda shitty which can be cool, but can also cause an unusable amount of mud without definition depending on where you’re at on the neck and the amp you’re playing through.

I actually play my baritone through a garnet head and a celestion blue 1x12 cabinet and it sounds good and twangy at a low A.
