E3 is going on right now in Los Angeles and Sony announced the price on Monday - $499 for the "basic" system, $599 for the one with all the bells and whistles that everyone will actually want.

I sold my PS2 a long time ago and have only missed it on the rarest of occasions. I won't be dropping 6 bills on a PS3.

I wouldn't place too much store in anything touted before console launches e.g. "Emotion Engine" and the whole "N64 is a Silicon Graphics workstation for $150" bollocks. Sony have shot a good bit of their feet away with the CGI shenanigans last year (MotorStorm looking distinctly worse this year), nothing on show that looks much of a jump over the 360, and cruel price points thanks largely to the slightly dubious blu ray inclusion. Only sure thing is that the Wii is a long way behind on power, has a 3rd party-crippling interface, and will probably have some brilliant 1st party stuff.

fingers crossed for pilotwiings

AFAIK, Google servers are consumer PCs with linux on them. The PS3 will be very expensive, but as with all things, will be easily affordable off the back of a lorry. I am incredinly sceptical about any sort of claims to revolutionise things, particularly when the console will juste be more powerful playstation. Big whoop.

I'll say "crap" only because I don't like 'em now. I was a junkie for the 8-bit and 16-bit video game worlds when I was a kid. I look fondly on that era, but that's it.

The 360 is crap, its library of games is laughable at best. The only game I ever bought for it was the Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. I waited for something else remotely interesting to come out and nothing did, in the entire first year it was out they only managed to squeeze out one really amazing game; utterly pathetic.

Ten years ago, I would have said they're the most destructive influence in my life that is wasting all my time, forcing me to be a loser, and generally holding me down worse than the Man already does.

Nowadays, it's just EA which does that.

Fucking nerds. This explains a lot.

Hate KISS, but you pussies just LOVE to sit in front of a TV screen pretending to be "Gangstas", "Warlords" Race Drivers or Spacemen, twiddling your thumbs and gleefully twitching your pale, corpulent torsos as ersatz enemies and aliens get blasted away.

So pathetic.

I just play video games so I can pretend to be Kiss:
