Back on to the subject of Brainiac, and Timmy, who one of the nicest people I ever met, and one of the most manic performers I have ever seen, truely a sight to behold on stage, and the most personal off it.
When I first met him (late 1992 or early 1993, I guess), he was very humble and gracious. I don't think his personality changed much (if at all) as his band became more well-known. Some people were intimidated by his on-stage persona, but he was kind and approachable when not performing.
yeah, I met him, pretty early on, I would say between SBB, and Bonzi, and he would always come up to me and say hi, when they were playing at Lalapolluza, he singled me and the Dr out in the crowd, and played "Go Freeks Go" just for us... He was never really that intimidating on stage to me, it was more like watching a james brown-esc cyborg yelping out comands to the crowd who were his dancers, funny and energetic, creepy, but not scarey...

I've been listening to their entire catalog on the Pod recently. I really really miss this band. As I mentioned upthread, I saw them twice. Timmy had a way to unhinge his jaw when performing that made him looking like a rock star thylacine.
Give me back my turquoise Albert Schweitzer doll.

I don't know if I've posted in here before. Brainiac are one of the best rock bands of the past 20 years.

Never thought Tim Taylor's death would be a yardstick by which we judge the sexual development of the youth of America.
