Bambouche, I think you need to make an "Outlaw Bob Stories" thread.

Most of the stories are a bummer. Outlaw Bob had a pretty bad life. There is one funny one, though.

I was failing high school, and heard that I may not graduate, at the same time my Adult Living teacher said we could invite 'guest speakers' to class for extra credit. I invited Outlaw Bob. On the TOPIC OF DISCUSSION line of the stupid form I had to fill out for the teacher to allow Bob to visit, I wrote, "Life choices."

The day came and I met Bob in front of the school. He was (is?) 6"11', had a goatee about two feet long that he pulled into spikes that went two directions. He wasn't wearing a shirt, just a leather biker vest, so his "FUCK THE WORLD" tattoo was visible. We walked down the long corridor where all the lockers were and it was like Bob was Moses and the students were the Red Sea, because the mass of kids parted and just stared silently as this psychopath (and me) walked to class.

Bob, after meeting my teacher (the head football coach, total tough guy asshole turned quivering ninny when Bob grabbed his hand), and waiting for role and whatnot, opened with, "It's great, you know, looking around this class and seeing you kids with all these STD posters in this room, we didn't have that when I was a kid, and I got the clap 3 or 4 times in the penitentiary and that's a motherfucker, lemme tell you."

My teacher reminded Bob at least 5 times that profanity wasn't tolerated. Each time Bob would look at him, "Right on teach," and then go right back to his story, brimming with profanity. After a few minutes the teacher just stopped trying.

Bob spoke for the entire class, rather than the alotted 20 minutes. No one tried to stop him. I'd never seen such a quiet classroom. The jocks, cheerleaders, stoners, goodys, everyone was dead quiet.

Bob went on about being a state-raised youth, shuffling from foster care to foster care, then Youth Authority, before prison. There were some real disgusting parts as well as some real heartbreaking parts. He took questions at the end, even after the teacher said, "well..." and Bob offered, "It's okay, teach."

I passed that class. I think the teacher was scared to fail me as I might sic Bob on him.

I'm in the process of covering most of my body with images of duality. Heaven and hell, good and evil, right and wrong. I've gotten most of the evil stuff done (I'm a spectacle at pool parties!), and now, as it's dripping out of my t-shirt areas, I am slowly turning the bad to good. It will end with angels on my wrists, covering suicide scars. Next up is a disfigured angel on one elbow and a fat retired devil on the other (representing the morping of two opposing concepts).

Here's two androgynous figures, one pregnant, which represent a purgatory in the process of recovering from a hate-filled life. They will be satellited with wingless angels and faceless devils, sitting just above the pristine angels on the wrists:

This is a brand, not a tattoo - though I have some of those, too. I did this in a moment of lovelorn drunken stupidity with a wire hanger I heated on the stove.

It's supposed to be a valentine-shaped heart. In the long healing/being-infected process, it distorted. (Depending on the position of my arm, it has its better moments.) This picture gives an idea of the size and location of it.

I'd thought of doing this for a while, but got inspired after seeing Jackass 2. (I neglected the disclaimer.) I don't regret it, and a shortsleeve shirt covers it up, but I might have thought it out better.

salut, bambouche! I like those a lot and the duality concept as a whole. That's something that's going to shape what I eventually hope will be a nearly full back piece, improving on or covering up the shitty angel/muse I have back there now.

Grafted. It's a piece of my thigh. I had third degree burn go gangrenous while living in South Korea without health insurance. My employer took me to a dermatologist (one whose primary practice seemed to be acne treatment and eye brow tattooing) for a while, but digging around in my arm with a scalpel once a day, for a week, didn't work after all. So I ended up in a Korean hospital under a false identity (with "borrowed" health insurance) where I ("Joel") had a skin graft.

It healed kind of funny, and the tattoo came later, in Taiwan.

Jesus tap dancin' christ, Andrew! That's quite a story.

I really like the way you incorporated it into the tattoo.

Andrew...That's a great story! Thanks for sharing that.

Bambouche...I just wanted to say that I find it somewhat comical that someone who has such awesome writing skills and who is such a good story teller would be failing high school. The kids I knew that failed high school couldn't read past a 3rd grade reading level.

Not only did my former roommate get this tattoo, he convinced another person (I've never met) to get it too.
Apparently, it's now a free tattoo at her shop in Arizona.

most of the kids i knew who were national honors society and top 1% are now either dead, in prison or rapidly aging drug addicts...the ones who aren't are stuck in dead end jobs and have lost their houses and most of them are divorced at least one time.

as for the drop-outs i knew, mostly they became either successful artists or are now running server farms for software developers and pulling down close to seven figures post-tax.

i don't have any tatts or piercings.
