I'm missing it as well. It doesn't even look like her mother. Such a bizarre pic in a sea of chilling and depressing photography. The only other movie that genuinely unsettled me from its photography is Savageland. Sequel, please!

The title cards to Lake Mungo are also super spooky. What a great film.
I tried to find info online, but the discussions are all about a different image in the credits.

Really is a great film.

The final image? It's an excellent punctuation mark for an excellent movie.

Like, if ghosts truly existed in the manner in which they are portrayed in art I could see what happened to Alice in LM happening in real life. Alice's haunting makes sense, feels logical, and her death as an everlasting absence of love and family - hence that final pic.

Fucking hated it. Having read some of the main historical books on this, watched various documentaries including the Soviet Judgment of the People’s (trivia, that’s the film sampled on the Manic Street Preachers’ Holy Bible)…
What song?

I watched 1984 a while back - excellent film - and when John Hurt says the "I hate purity, I hate goodness" lines, I was like, "whoa, that's from 'Faster'".
"Whatever happened to that album?"
"I broke it, remember? I threw it against the wall and it like, shattered."

After years of you guys mentioning Lake Mungo I finally watched. Brilliant, sad, and a film that really sticks with you after watching. There were a few pacing issues just after the first big twist. But honestly a very profound film. I will watch again.

Hooboy Glass was a stinker but it was fun watching McAvoy act - especially when "Jade" was flirting with that smoke show of a nurse - then that entire deal got exhausting no matter how deftly McAvoy was able to navigate all them personalities. Crap.

Watched a flick called Swallow wherein a newly-pregnant housewife discovers she has pica. Great performances all around. Recommended!
