I'm excited about the Polvo reunion, although I don't know whether I'll make it back to Chapel Hill for it. The youtube clips are bad, and most folks I know who saw them say they were ephemeral live, in part because they played really different sets all the time. The DVD I have is incredible, though - it's something else to watch someone play "Bridesmaid Blues" or that new Ash song that may not have ever had a name on the guitar.
I've seen Black Taj (Brylawski, Popson, and two others) a few times in the past couple years, and they've always been tight despite the band members living in different areas, so I wouldn't be surprised if Polvo is tighter than in their heyday.
Also, there's a whole new generation of Carolina basketball players for Brylawski to riff on.

MBV tour dates.
Bleah, Roseland.
I still want to go, I think, if tickets are not some insane amount of money.

I have seen a few shows there that sounded good, but it's real rare.
The Flaming Lips sounded good, The White Stripes sounded good. Primus sounded really good. Tar sounded great.
Aside from that it's been horrible every time.
I am so scared Portishead will be there.

I can't wait to see Polvo when they book some dates over on the west coast of the States.
Touch and Go just re-issued "Shapes" and "Exploded Drawing" on vinyl recently.

me and a friend were at the show at the Cat friday night. Thought Polvo was excellent, especially for playing their first show in 10 yrs. I was glad they played 3 songs off New Dark Age. Wasn't feeling the new song that much.
the first band played way too long. The second band was possibly the worst spectacle I've ever seen. I just couldn't wait for them to vacate the stage.
