Is it dark sounding as is?No, this model is similar in tone to a Sho Bud or Fender so it s pretty brilliant sounding.The lowest string is a fifth above the low E of a regular guitar so I guess the super hot pickup just helps give weight to all the trebly notes. I will mess around with it and see. Was thinking clean blend too but that usually doesn t work very well for me in practice.
