I might have mentioned I work in a network operations center and my customer has several hundred locations throughout TX that we support. Last week we learned that there are several cities - particularly in West and NW TX that are shutting down power to their grids during these windstorms we've been having lately to prevent fires since the drought is so bad. Id seen that in other places like CA and NM, but that's the first time I've heard it here......

These last 2 weeks have been the worst non thunderstorm winds I remember here. Just high winds and dust.....and power outages.
