17.7 million American women have been victims of attempted or completed rape.

9 of every 10 rape victims were female in 2003.

Almost 2/3 of rapes were committed by someone known to the victim.
73% of sexual assaults were perpetrated by a non-stranger.
38% of rapists are a friend or acquaintance.
28% are an intimate.
7% are a relative.

More than 50% of all rape/sexual assault incidents were reported by victims to have occured within 1 mile of their home or at their home.

* 4 in 10 take place at the victim's home.
* 2 in 10 take place at the home of a friend, neighbor, or relative.
* 1 in 12 take place in a parking garage.

43% of rapes occur between 6:00pm and midnight.

* 24% occur between midnight and 6:00am.
* The other 33% take place between 6:00am and 6:00pm.

* The average age of a rapist is 31 years old.
* 52% are white.
* 22% of imprisoned rapists report that they are married.
* Juveniles accounted for 16% of forcible rape arrestees in 1995 and 17% of those arrested for other sex offenses.
* In 1 in 3 sexual assaults, the perpetrator was intoxicated — 30% with alcohol, 4% with drugs.
* In 2001, 11% of rapes involved the use of a weapon — 3% used a gun, 6% used a knife, and 2 % used another form of weapon.
* 84% of victims reported the use of physical force only.

I probably paid an insane amount for something super convenient. That's the best I can come up with.

Well, I called a woman Soleil Moon Frye for an entire evening because I didn't like her real name. Come to think of it, I often refuse reality when I'm drunk, and I place my own 'better' reality in where needed. Sometimes that can be really humiliating - I refused to believe that a bar had only 11 beer pitchers and believed it to be some kind of bar game I didn't know of. I grilled the waitress about it long enough for her to tell me to go fuck my dumb-ass.

I am the first to laugh at some offensive shit if it's funny but that story isn't funny fucked up, it's just nasty fucked up and makes me feel kind of sad.

if this story had been about me getting drunk and saying to my dad i'd smack him in the mouth or shouting at my best friend that i'll kill him - yet actually doing nothing of the sort, nor having any wish to - then instantly feeling like a mong for saying it, then it would all be fine.

Well, yelling something like that to a woman, and I understand you feel bad about it....that's akin to a white dude yelling drunken racial slurs at a black man walking alone at night. Not fun or funny under any circumstances, to think of it gives me an ill feeling to imagine how that feels for the person. I am a big fan of crude fucked up comedy and outrageous situations but this is kind of past a line.

I understand you weren't saying 'this was funny', I'm just saying as relevant as it may be it left a foul feeling nonetheless.

You can say whatever you want, people can react however they want.

Yes, rape is a HUGE buzz word and for good reason...girls get raped constantly, it's always on a female's mind as she walks around and that is the shittiest thing in the world.

I am not talking shit to you, seriously...I am just commenting overall. As much as I do not want any restrictions put on anyone I would totally be cool with nobody ever posting an amusing rape anecdote again. We have some truly amazing females who post here and out of respect for them if nothing else, ya dig?
