I never liked his vocals much, but he was definitely a legend. Sad to see him gone at 52.

Just saw this, too. 89, hell of an age to make!

Redford used his success to provide opportunities for independent filmmakers for decades. Respect, and something worth mentioning in this particular corner of the internet.

I just caught myself thinking "man it seems like so many people are dying" but I know that's just because I am getting old. That led me to thinking about how some day there will be middle-aged Zoomers saying "Damn, RIP to Chiddy Flop, Yung Jibbles, _jizzrizz69_" etc. Maybe we should all just die now

Yes. Isn't it funny to think that at the end of the day, we're all just going about our days, in a futile resistance against the entire fucking universe, only to be turned to dust where our lives mean absolutely nothing. We're literally fighting ourselves for absolutely nothing, and the worms that will eventually eat our flesh will then be turned to dust themselves, broken down by fungi that will in turn, turn to dust. Until the earth evaporates from the explosion of the sun, as it laughs at our meaningless existence in an extremely inconsequential corner of infinite space and time.

If there truly is a god, they would laugh at our silly names.

“This planet has — or rather had — a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn’t the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy.” (Adams, “Prologue”, _Hitchhiker’s_, 1).
