rayj wrote:Did anyone mention Caroliner Rainbow? Their live shows are astounding. So was Crash Worship. So is Whitehouse, if you are a fan.

I've seen Whitehouse live...I'm not a fan so you can assume it was typically horrific, experience wise.

Gang of Four really went at it last time I saw them. they had the energy of 20 year old kids

Waffles due to the fact the place was packed with scensters who were there because pitchfork told them it was the place to be.

The Blind Shake laid waste to the Soap Factory in Minneapolis last night. They are the best band in town, hands-down - every time I see them, they are better than the time before, and I've never seen them put on a bad show.

So much fun. If you post on this board and you haven't heard them, you're doing something wrong.

Mostly from this year's Emissions from the Monolith:

Weedeater - They always bring it. They've kicked me in the gut not once but twice this summer.

Skeletonwitch - Ditto. Saw them at Emissions and then in the tiny Tap Bar at Knitting Factory. Both times were like being grabbed by the nape of the neck and shaken.

Test-Site - Volcanic.

RPG - Good buddies of mine and a hell of a punk'n'roll band. They are ferocious fun personified.

Book of Knots (non-Emissions show) - Can't say the "always" bring it, since they've only played one live show, but damn. That was a special experience.

crash worship was the biggest mass booze-up I've ever seen. I know guys who still are ashamed after all these years when just mention this band. very tribal show!

I'm going to go ahead and say it. (Probably get shot down for it.)

Bruce Springsteen fucking brings it and then some live.

Best show I've ever seen hands down. (Helps that the E-Streeters were there)

Say what you will about the over the top antics, I think every part of the show was great.

I saw many local/small bands this week and those that brought live were:

The Conformists
Lovely Little Girls
Bitter Tears
Bang! Bang! (they play friday, but I've seen them many times)
