I think Strummer might have done that himself with “We are the Clash”

In the UK they were the first Boy Bands.

When they kick at your front door
How you gonna come?
With your hands on your head
Or on the trigger of your gun
Well, statistically you’ll be disarmed and shot by the person kicking in your front door

yeah, but the idea is to take some of them with you, isn't it, in those somewhat simpler, less-total-tactical-body-armor-war-cosplay times

The idea a group of plucky 2A types could hold back the full or even partial weight of the US government is beyond laughable.

Guns aren’t the government’s weapon, information is.

Maybe you can expound on that, but I'm willing to bet a couple people in Minnesota would still be alive if ICE was armed only with information.

The NRA conning people into buying guns to protect against a tryannical government is the successful psyop I take Gram to mean. Which can remain true with your assertion as well.

I’m more referring to the idea a citizen militia could prevent a tyrannical government in the US through the 2A.

I should probably have said “not the only weapon”. What I meant was all the dudes with an AR15 at home would never have the capacity to beat the government not just on toe to toe weapons and fire power, but the National Surveillance State would be so far ahead any resistance would be meaningless.

Alright thanks...yeah, I mean sure, but in the same way, I think the IDEA of armed resistance by ordinary citizens is a deterrent. According to google more people currently search for Luigi Mangione than Mario's brother.

Wondering how much of that is women (and gents), like this one girl I know, who just think he's hot. (I believe she voted for Cuomo in the NYC primaries.)

Mangione seems like just another mixed-up rich-kid spectacle than an articulated rebellion. And well, Americans, above all else, love a spectacle. (Social media amplifies that even more.)

Mangione also didn't deter much of anything. Insurance companies still seem to be acting like insurance companies, now bringing you even higher premiums
bolstered by Trump's Big Beautiful Bullshit. Even that extra dribble of Mangione-inspired security detailing for CEOs (a handy tax writeoff that the healthcare behemoths could well afford, no doubt) was sent packing mere months after the fact. It was almost instantly back to business as usual. Dude made Occupy Wall Street look like the Great Crusades.
