i vote for holocaust, as it was an effect of highly intelligent preparations and planning. and it had ideology behind it which said that if you're a jew, you're not a human. and people bought it. in one of most higly cultured (whatever it means) countires in europe. 65 years ago. holocaust created something which stalin never have: a whole perfectly working industry design to kill and utilize people. there were no death camps in russia, only work camps. which were not designed to kill people, or at least not directly. i'm not saying they were not horrible, and they are definitely overlooked in western europe and usa (from what i know, at least) but it's not the same level of insane inhuman atrocity as holocaust. i read once that stallin had plans to exterminate jews after the war just like hitler, but he died before the plan was realized. so it's not like stalin was in any way better than hitler, in case someone thought this is what i was saying.
