Shit - now that you mention it - I'm feeling it a little bit harder to justify (to myself, only due to ignorance on my part) bothering to show up for the Friday portion... that way I could potentially eliminate the cost of lodgings for one night...

I know a few songs of GvsB, so I have a little bit of a 'feel' for them, but I know nothing of the others... (although I might do some shifty p2p/mp3 snooping this weekend)

I would be curious to hear any of y'all discuss the merits of these artists:

!!!
Ted Leo + Pharmacists
Supersystem
The Shipping News

Any thoughts (+ or -) on these acts?

Are any of them "must-see" in any of your personal lists?

The Shipping News is June of 44 people. They are okay.
The Supersystem is not good.
Ted Leo is boring.

I am assuming my ticket will be my passport. No different than if you show up late.

I talked to Jessica at the Hideout yesterday and she said that they are doing wristbands so that you can come and go as you please.

Thanks for the info!
it's not the length, it's the gersch

Personally, I think this band is terrible.

I can't imagine why anyone wouldn't like this band. Come on, the exact same pseudo-funk bass lines and tempos for 40 minutes straight with a second-rate Michael Hutchence on vocals prancing about? Awesome!

No...hold on...wait...they suck.

I'm also not fan of !!!. too dancy-hip or whatever for my tastes, but maybe you're into that.

but i saw this short documentary clip about their drummer chopping up records and making scratchy collages out of them, and using a knife as a record needle. Kinda cool I guess, but he's no Christian Marclay or anything.

Saw Ted Leo at the hideout once... seems a nice fella who addresses the crowd graciously, talks in polysyllables, and plays a pretty good rock guitar. Some people are obsessed with him...
