This story is infuriating. I hate this for you, Ringo. At least you can take solace that you did the right thing, if nothing else. Fuck those guys. Hard. Right in the eyes.

You did the right thing. Obviously the guy's in denial he has a problem if he's really this upset with you. It's unfortunate you were caught in the middle of a very bad decision he made.

As somebody who's been hit by a drunk driver (I chronicled the whole incident in another thread, I don't rememeber which one), I say you did the right thing.

Your friend is having legal trouble? Imagine the shitheap he'd be in if he was party to somebody dying.

Their beef with you is akin to having a problem with a bartender because they've been cut off. It has to be done, it's actually to their benefit, humiliating as it might be, and to not recognize that is fucking childish.

Yeah, it sucks if this has to cost you a blow job or two from the local bar skanks because you're just not the laid back, fun loving party dude they thought you were, but it'll all come back around in the wash.

I call 911 every time I see someone driving who is too out of it to control his or her car.

This happens several times a year.

If someone I knew was drunk behind the wheel, and I saw him, I would call the cops on him in a second.

You did them a favor as well as everybody else on the road. Anyone driving drunk deserves to get caught.

I thought "stop snitchin'" was just a rapper thing.

No, that's something your mom says when she's baking cookies.

It's an awkward call, but the right call. Absolutely.

I have to disagree with The Flash. "Minding your own business" is an easy way to let bad things happen while denying any complicity. I interrupted a mugging Thursday night, which was less awkward just because it was happening, rather than having the potential to happen.

No one should feel as though they have to apologize for doing the right thing. Stick up for yourself and they'll back off. If not, they're not the kind of folks you want in your life, anyhow.

Definitely the right thing. If your friend was stupid enough to get in the car with this king-size gomer asshole, then he's cruising for trouble, as his unfinished business with the po-po would indicate. I've been pickled drunk before, but I'd never attempt to operate a car under the influence, much less get in a car with a guy who I knew was just as shitwasted as I was.

It was the right call.

He will not kill himself. I can almost assure you that he will not kill himself. I'm gonna go about 87% sure that he will kill somebody else first. They always kill somebody else.

Thank you, Patrick. I greatly admire your decision.
