I guess you're implying that I like/listen to old punk music instead of music like this. I hardly listen to old punk music any more, as I have pretty well absorbed it and don't need to listen to it to get value from it. I don't need to continuously re-read good books to have been enriched by having read them.

Indeed, I don't listen to this bullshit though, and if I had to choose, I'd take almost any kind of music over British Club Crackle Dubstep or whatever taxonomic splatter name you want to give this month's variant.

Fuck this music. Fuck the culture that makes it, commodifies it, mythologizes the mouse-clickers that hack it together, and uses it to supplant tangible culture. Fuck everything about this.

Just out of curiosity, what the hell would inspire you to make such a comment?

Oh yeah, never mind.

Several reasons, one of which is how often people seem to aim their noses strait for Steve's asshole.

And what other people say to me makes up your mind how?

It doesn't.

You seem to have a coherent aesthetic and I respect that. You also seem to enjoy saying fairly devastating things about music that offends that aesthetic. I wanted to see what would happen if I sassed you a little about that.

On its own, this "genre" is dead in my opinion. Get rid of the lame sampled vocals and maybe add some actual music to the track and it could be interesting.

Although it doesn't seem too promising, but maybe it inspires someone else to do something great, or someone doing something shitty, to do something less shitty who knows...

Besides there's not much left in 2007 after which discussions such as this will be fruitless. The future (or at least Jan 2008) lies with post-dubstep. :smt020

However, two points for being named "dubstep" and "crackle," two of the more ridiculous genre names I've ever heard.

What else would you call music made using cracked software by crackers on crack?

Um, crackle isn't actually a real genre.
