Sorry, I can't hear you over the din of my Givson!

Ha!! Brilliant! I bought one of these in Cochin- the G.150 STANDARD I believe. It served me very well on my adventures as it was light, could take a battering and still stay in tune. It ended up in the care of some hippy as I couldn't be bothered to bring it back, but I did love that guitar. I still have a pick with the logo which takes pride of place in my wallet. There were also the copyright dodging Fendar and Yemeha- all actually not bad guitars for the price, though Indian guitar string did seem to be closer to sitar strings in the way they could just cut straight through calluses I’d spent years building up

Mine (the Crown Standard) is immediately to the right of my computer. After I put some good machine heads on it, it's turned out to be pretty great. Action seems to be bowing a bit over time, though.

Does it have a weird first fret just before the nut? I couldn't work it out but all Indian guitars i saw seemed to have one.

Yeah- i played a few different ones and they were great for the price- there was a nice little jazz number for about Rs2,500 (£35 or so). I'm still amazed that such good guitars could be bought new for such a price.
Credo!
