you know, i was thinking that they were both dead spots in their eras, but that's not really fair

there were probably close to a dozen all-time great albums in 1969, and many many fewer than that in 1982. then again, there were more great albums in 1968 than in 1981, as well. but the discrepancy between 1969 and the years that surrounded it was not as great as the same discrepancy regarding 1982.
