You guys ever see the Manowar dude's bass . He took a Rick and changed the string spacing (bridge and nut) so the strings are spaced even closer than a 6 string guitar. Helps him when he does that 'Flight of the Wounded Bumble Bee' solo or some shit. Stupid, but funny.

oops, i wasn't actually being anti five string it's just the 5 string rickenbackers are probably not the best examples of their basses. 5 strings on a four string neck? an aquired taste. it was my second bass. i had played a cheap starter bass for 5 years straight so by the time i had some money together it was burning a hole in my pocket.
