As for Cum Town, I couldn't imagine recommending it to most people who are queer, women, or not white. Like I get the charm of the thing. But all the post-PC post-ironic, hysterical self-knowing racism and homophobia and bla bla high school yucks. The main dude, who doesn't give a fuck, is comically brilliant in a lot of ways. He's very sharp and very skilled, and so he's like let me say all this ironic self-knowing racist shit, woo hoo and whatever. The Jewish dude is basically never insightful or funny (playing against type I guess). The fat guy has better politics than the main guy and laughs beautifully if you just look in his direction, so I get why straight white dudes enjoy the entertainment and humour of it. But as a political podcast, the main guy who's actually funny and talented, has weak, detached politics.

I wish I had more recommendations. This entire format usually makes me squirm. So many of these spend a lot of time laughing at their own jokes, and for some reason I can't stand it. Too often it's like Car Talk all over again and I just can't hang. It's not you, podcasts, it's me.Seconding The War Nerd and Doug Henwood. I'll take a look at the ones recommended here.-r
