Lot of sense in this thread. How 'bout this wacky idea that occurs to me now: going to be hard to do a lot of red baiting now on/towards the Democratic side from now till the election, i.e. one of the biggest things you could roll out against Bernie (bigly, fakely) say four or eight or twenty years ago is going to sound super silly now. Not that they haven't already tried, centrist Dems too, but I think that attack option rings even hollower now. Silver lining, say ye too?

The fact that none of this [has been proven yet] validates Trumps tweets of fake news and a pro Clinton partisan news media to his followers. So his innocence gives the appearance this whole inquiry was a partisan hatchet job, This will revitalize his 2020 campaign and base in the next election, who will no longer give major media any credence and believe more in Trump. If Trump can keep his base the candidates of the Democrats will have trouble carrying the election as incumbents generally have a big advantage in elections.FYP a tad (in bold), but yeah, +1El Protoolio wrote:power protects power from real consequences. There is a club and we are not in it.Also true. After the Access Hollywood tape dropped and it didn't completely tank his political career, I knew for sure Trump wasn't playing by the same rules as a "normal" person would be. Any other line of work, that (and the myriad other stupid things he's said and done) would've spelled the end of it.

After listening to CNN and their ilk talk in circles, for months on end, about what a bombshell the Mueller Report would be, forgive me if I'm not at all in the mood to hear various pundits expound upon its finer points today while the network does damage control. Ditto late night comedians.Revisiting Scott Walker's back catalog will be a far better, more worthwhile use of time today. It pains me to say it, but this is unfortunately a victory for the right, even if Trump isn't fully exonerated.Yes, there are other pending investigations, but it looks like the surest way to oust him will be at the ballot box in November 2020. I'll see you there.

The jumping to conclusion in the white house media is gross. It goes past inconclusiveness to proven innocence and to the degree of threatening media members and having people fired.FYP. It has been an ugly couple of days watching that fuckstick become emboldened by something for once. It's starting to resemble the type of president who will never leave.
