Ate there any non-reverse pointy headstock guitars that aren't ugly? For some reason I can tolerate reverse pointy headstock...

haha.. ah yes, the Pawn Shop series. I haven't kept up, but it seemed like Fender wised up and realized what people actually wanted was more affordable versions of old designs (JM, Jaguar, Mustang) and not some grotesque tobacco burst Strat thing with 3 angled Jazzmaster pickups and an f-hole or whatever. Maybe they still make 'em..

This naming strategy would have been particularly satisfying each of the many hundred times it was said in court during the inevitable Rickenbacker legal action against them.

FWIW, that bridge is a much better design than Rickenbacker's.

I definitely know exactly what kind of guitar you're talking about. On the flip side (and I'm a big offset guitar fan) I took a recent look at the Cobain custom Jagstang. It's a pretty ugly body shape.

Yeah, I guess the Jagstang was sort of the first draft version of what Cobain was envisioning, but died before they could revise it so they just sort of put it out as is. I kinda like it other than the angled pickups and odd choice of bridge. I can certainly see it as a proto Pawn Shop model for sure.

Still, IMO, one of the ugliest guitars ever made. They aren't even fun to play unless you have baby hands. It's the worst sum of all its parts.

I would totally fuck with that Jackson (put some passive pickups in it though).

Yeah, it isn't the worst thing. Bridge looks solid. I hate the inlays and headstock. Other than that, just seems like bass. Its not as ugly as all those smooth shaped Ibanez Basses

Gross!
