Making it official: our very own Jimmy Two Hands, who was the original bass player of Nice (from years ago), has rejoined us on guitar! I'm really excited to have Jim back in the fold for many reasons, but we've been working on what a second guitar is like for Nice and the results have been better than I could have imagined.

Nice is going to be playing Val's Halla Records in Oak Park on April 12th, 3pm for Record Store Day.

This is our first show with the new lineup. Come by, say hi!

Nice finally went into the studio for the first time to track our album. We've been sitting on these 9 songs for years. It's been a rough road that included the pandemic, losing 2 drummers, having kids and bringing on new members and bringing back old ones... It's been something like 8 months since we've solidified in our current form. I can't believe we've come this far, to be honest. It's hard doing music in your 40s and 50s for a lot of reasons. It's nice to know that you can do this shit with your friends and despite what life throws at you, your friends will never let you down.

Anyway, I'm so glad to put these songs in the can and move on. I've got a lot of new material to work on, we can finally start looking ahead instead of behind.

Got some shows coming up and an album to mix.

Cool! You gonna mix it yourself? Jimbo posted a few tracking photos on Bluesky and I'm guessing that's the studio FM matte inherited?

Oh nice, yeah that's some of the stuff. Still need to track vocals at my place and then I'll get into the mixing. Engstrom already has a pretty good rough mix on it already, and he made sure to use the same software and plugins I have for easy transfer.
