Austin!

Jim White & Marissa Anderson, Edith Frost, Thothra, and Fool’s Goal at 29th St Ballroom (formerly Spider House) on Sunday 2/23

Tropical Fuck Storm and Bill Orcutt are also playing at the 29th St Ballroom on 6/29. Tickets go on sale in about 30 minutes. It’ll be good to see TFS in a small room again!

Saw the Anderson/White duo last year and it was utterly transcendent. Cannot recommend enough!!!

(Goes without saying, Corsano/Orcutt opening for TFS, chef's kiss.)

I'm going to get tickets to the St. Louis date. I missed them last time they came through due to an obligation, and remember thinking, "watch, they won't ever come back here."

Saw the Orcutt/Corsano duo at Big Ears two years ago. Was very cool, impressive playing by both.
"Whatever happened to that album?"

Daniel Higgs is playing at the 29th St Ballroom on Friday 4/11. I am very excited about this.

Frank Hurricane is playing on the same night at the Mohawk. How awesome would it have been to have Higgs and Hurricane on the same bill? I’ve already got tickets to Daniel Higgs. I’m hoping it will be every bit as awkward as the two other times I’ve seen him.

As for my own shit, Weird Weather is playing on 4/12 at Buzz Mill and 4/13 at the Nomad, both in Austin.

Would see Daniel Higgs if I were there.

04/10 - the Doublewide|Dallas
Young Widows
Cherubs

Um, the DW is small. Like, I've played shows there small lol. Very excited for this.

04/17 - EchoLounge -
Napalm Death
Melvins
Weedeater

Have never seen weedeater or ND. Should be fun, stinky.

Apr 29 - Kessler Theater
Yo La Tengo

Will always see them when they come around. Never disappoint, always interesting.

Young widows was fantastic but really strange that they drew so few people - fewer than 100 I'd bet. This town sucks so bad. A by-product of the only local college being a private xian university and no liberal arts schools. This is why bands skip here and go to Denton.

Despite that, they sounded GREAT and delivered the goods. Go see them.

I'm on the fence about tomorrow - melvins I've seen and tbh don't really like (heresy, I know) but I love Cody's drumming. Napalm Death would be more of a "I've never seen 'em so nows a chance" and weedeater is.....well, I know what that will be.

Mogwai in a couple weeks. May 4 at echo lounge

Godspeed You!...will be here on april 26th. Guess I'm getting my crescendo core on soon.

They played in Kansas City last weekend. That show was on my radar, but the weekend before my friend from KC who was gonna go too said he was going to skip it. And I was tired of driving - it's a 4-hour roundtrip to KC from where I live - that I sat it out. Maybe some other time. New album is pretty good.
