Back in the olden days, I saw this teenage(well, I think that he was mid-teens looking back...) walk up to the soda machine and put about one blast of everything in the machine in his glass.
Blew my mind back then.
I have been that kid for my entire life as far as metal goes.
Re: Which Kind of Metal?
25My wife is a patient woman and she's walked into rooms when I've been playing Non or Nurse With Wound or Christian Death or Hatebreed or Suffocation or Anal Cunt etc etc without comment.
But the one time she walked in when I was listening to Them, (giving MF / KD another try for the hundredth time) she started laughing involuntarily and said "What is this shit?"
Re: Which Kind of Metal?
26I like metal just fine, and it's cool that they managed to totally shed anything to do with Blues from the rock and roll formula. Thus, if I want to hear real metal, the harsher the better. But Proto/Hard-Rock has too many classics to not come out on top....and I like the Blues anyways.

Re: Which Kind of Metal?
27Voted death metal because the first wave made a big impact on me at the time. Black metal is a close second.

29Ah yes, artists who transcend genre while being surrounded by purists. Always the best.gustavprom wrote: Sun Nov 12, 2023 12:36 pm Whatever Voivod was playing on Dimension Hatross is my favorite metal genre - so borderline psychedelic progressive thrash with clear influences from he smarter end of hardcore and post-punk?
