22“Sick” has been used to mean cool by us millennials like 20 years ago (probably goes back to the 1990s when shit got described as “wicked sick”). My friends and family members that are around my age said it – and many still say it – all the time, especially the ones who got involved in emo and metalcore. I never used the word that way, mainly because I’ve never got directly involved in those MySpace scenes and I like to make fun of them for it. I wouldn’t have figured that word would’ve continued to survive in that fashion by future generations, but that’s language for us.

fire came from gen z running around as little kids while we played beer pong same with crash out .. like when your buddy wants to crash at your place only he stays up drinking and goes nuts and now gen z says they're about to lose their mind by saying crash out ..
they kinda picked up our stuff but don't like us.. millennials liked gen x before us it's different .. i never got the valley girl out of my slang it's like totally cool
i showed gen z flare jeans and the backstreet boys before they became in fashion again and i get a lot of cred for it

26“sick” = “ excessively awesome” was an 80s x-er term in New England. Not sure if that was a term elsewhere in the country back then?
