it certainly isn't anything I'd go out of my way to listen to but its fine for dentist office muzak
I was surprised to see him playing bass in a promo video for the upcoming Courtney Barnett album. The dude likes cool music and is friends with cool people. I can extrapolate that he is probably cool.Gramsci wrote: Wed Mar 25, 2026 2:59 amI know! The weirdest thing about the RHCP’s is how many of them are close friends with very cool musicians. This is fine. Self indulgent twaddle but if he’s going to put out music… sure. There’s zero chance this isn’t costing him a fortune. He’s always seemed a nice guy.

Bad: I’ve heard better jazz trumpet solos in a high school band. He does have decent tone.
Not going to buy the record or anything, but it’s okay. People are playing actual musical instruments.
No one, NOT A SINGLE PERSON, in LA, will say no to a celebrity, they truly had no choice. Though I'm curious why he didn't go with folks associated with Brainfeeder for that LA local cred.
Sounds like Parker has become an LA session musician? Good for him then. It's supposed to be a very good living.losthighway wrote: Wed Mar 25, 2026 8:11 amI was surprised to see him playing bass in a promo video for the upcoming Courtney Barnett album. This music however is not. The best I can say is it's indifferent to contemporary trends and carefully crafted.
