Too right. Most of the stuff I've heard by religious musicians (where the religion is an integral component to the music) is in general unrewarding comical shite. That isn't to say that writing religious music precludes it from being any good. I couldn't live without my Low records, I love Buddhist Tantric chanting and quite like gospel music.
But most Christian rock is too ripe with cliche and pomposity to take seriously. I'd say that this is because people that write this kind of Christian rock have an eye on prosletysing, and that doesn't make for easy listening... Actually, maybe Christian easy listening would be more successful...
