Perhaps I'm a naiive little schoolgirl, but I thought that doing coke and heroin were things people were kinda ashamed about. Whenever I've been in discussions with people talking about beer and pot, as soon as someone mentions coke there's an awkward lull in the conversation, as if things just reached that creppy, now-you've-gone-too-far level. But maybe that's just me and my circle of aquaintances.

The hardest drugs I do are caffeine and sugar. And often when I order a soda at a restaurant, some substance-loaded friend I'm with will say, "You drink sodas?? No way man, I don't drink that shit."

my guess is that that is an early 90s retaliation from the 80s that has carried over a bit too far.

actually now that i think about it, that used to be the case when i was in high school. people were doing it, but no one was talking about it cause no one wanted anyone else to know.

my definitive opinion on coke:
it's a waste of money, but if your friend has got some and is offering it to you free of charge, go for it. stupidest thing ever to get addicted to because it lasts for all of 10 minutes, but really fun for while it's lasting.
