so my friend and i have been writing songs, recording practices over old mix tapes and other cassettes we have lying around... so i'm reviewing our ideas and they're all punctuated with things like pieces of 6-year-old blonde redhead, or Chrome from the pretty in pink soundtrack....

but then there are wildcard songs that I can't identify... like this man-woman duet that goes "If I was a woman... and you were a man... would you... [etc, etc]"

So now I have to find out what those songs are, just on the principle of knowing the origin of a song with which you're familiar, for whatever reason....
