This is so far from correct, or even making sense, I don't even know what to say.

Jon

Experience of bands (and putting them on) has shown me that if a drummer turns up and they have no mic-hole, they always have a decent sounding kit at the very least and are usually pretty good at playing it.

Considering how many good drummers I've seen with and without the bass hole, I've got to put this one in the bullshit category too. Ditto for whoever said stickers on the bass drum head.

Or perhaps you'd like to take it up with one Mr. Dale Crover?

Hey, it's by no means a rule that only hole-less drummers are good.

Dude... Chrome Hoof

I saw them at Villette sonique. For a while I didn't know if I liked them or hated them. They were sloppy, not even playing together sometimes (it wasn't on purpose at all). Eventually, I think they suck. Yeah, I hate them.

You hate a band that you can't even make your mind up about? "Hate"?

Way to go!

Ok, they aren't that bad. I have the right to have a bad day at work, haven't I?
It took me a while to decide whether they were brilliant or annoying. They would have been better playing a EGC Standard. What's the big deal anyway? Are they any friends of yours? Why are you so uptight?

Just thought it was a bit of a weird thing to say, that you 'hate' a band that you have seen once and by the sound of things, couldn't get your head around when you saw them.

"It took me a while to decide whether they were brilliant or annoying"

Surely that's your problem not theirs?

They are your friends, aren't they?

Drummers with mic holes in their bass drum heads can be alternately good or bad, whereas drummers without holes are invariably good.

'Mirite?

No.

Drummers w/o holes can be super jazzy in a lame way.

I have not found that hole/no hole is a good indicator re drumming prowess or lack thereof.

I like Steve's one about the cymbal/hihat height. Never thought about it before, but it's true.

I think you're probably right. In reflection.

And no, Chrome Hoof aren't friends of mine. Just thought it was an odd thing to say.
