Plus, if you're at a hooker's house, you don't answer the door - especially if it's "Dee - ehche - ell" ringing at night.

I think they got the wrong house and saw a guy who looked like Phil go in.

This here refers to Phil's "now-deceased Ukrainian mistress." I'd thought it was probably the wrong house too, but this guy convinced me, since he's a Sopranos writer.

The girlfriends don't need to be Italian (Tony's most common ethnicity was Russian, I think) -- these guys want only their wives (not their goumades) to remind them of their mothers. The dad was pretty dumb to answer the door for a package that late at night, but even if he had met his doppelganger/daughter's "friend," he may not have understood that there was any danger involved.

Synopsis from HBO:

"Waiting outside a row of houses in Queens, the Italians spot a white haired man pulling up to their target, and checking their photo of Phil, they make their move. One of the Italians rings the bell with a delivery. The man opens the door and when the Italian opens fire Phil's housekeeper Yaryna comes running from upstairs, shouting. She is shot dead as well."

So that answers that. They just got poor instructions, I guess.

I think their instructions were fine! If her dad didn't look like Phil, they would have hung out in the car waiting until it was clear he wasn't going to show up. Phil was already in hiding and would not have shown up there, presumably until after the smoke clears on his New Jersey hits.

I was hoping that I would be the first one on this forum to mention this. So good!!!

Burun, I think you live in Queens (?). Can you confirm the existence of such a place? Can you provide photographic evidence.

Flatbush is in Brooklyn, but I will investigate.

That's obviously made up.

Coincidently, a good bud and former bandmate has lived on Flatbush extension just over the (Manhattan) bridge since the late 80's, and I took a gander at his joint on the google street level site today. Kinda creepy. Kinda neat.

Hm. Weird. I stand corrected, but it seems a little odd. Then again, the whole bit seems odd, either way.

I watched part of this episode again last night. The guy they shot looked an awful lot like Phil when he drove up, so I could how that mistake was made.
