I doubt it. As good as Liverpool might be augmented by Barry/Bentley/Downing/Whoever, they aren't going to be as consistently strong as Chelsea or Man Utd. They could possibly give Arsenal a run for third considering their poor luck holding onto players like Hleb and Flamini.

With the money available to Ferguson and Scolari, they may as well be in another league. Last year Chelsea were on the brink of a treble with an unproven manager and this year it's hard to see how they won't dominate with Big Phil in charge. Plus, he's obviously bringing in other players too. Even if Lampard leaves, the idea of a midfield containing Ballack and Deco among others is not to be sniffed at. Ferguson might have lost his head coach but I think he's spent enough in the previous seasons to have an incredibly strong squad. If they do manage to sign Berbatov, they're going to be ridiculous going forward. Personally, I'd fuck Ronaldo off. If he doesn't want to play for you and you've got players like Hargreaves, Nani, Saha, Park, Anderson and Carrick coming through plus a chance to offload a moaning bastard for one hundred million to one of your rivals, I say go for it. Especially considering he's injured anyway.

One of the best games of the early O'Leary era, away at Manchester City in the FA Cup, a 5-2 win I think; Darren Huckerby was released down the left and ran to the touchline. A thousand times we'd seen this; a thousand times Huckerby had run the ball out of play and conceded the goal kick. This time though, once he reached the byline, Huckerby managed to cut inside a defender and square the ball along the six yard line for Harry Kewell to tap in.

As Kewell ran towards him to celebrate, he was pretty clearly shouting something akin to "you actually fucking did it! I can't believe you actually fucking did it!"

He did seem to have something of a renaissance at 'Norfolk', though. The fans there in the 'North-East' of England certainly took to him. Perhaps Matt Gringo has a view?
