"You know what the day after tomorrow is?""It's... your birthday!""Hmmm. Did you remember that on your own, or is it because I reminded you just now?"Fuck. I have to mention people's birthdays before their birthdays now to seem like I remember?

I'm one of those guys who looks for two unused spaces so I can just drive into the second one. It's because 1) I'm lazy, 2) I don't trust my motor skills when backing up.

I back into spaces all the time, and I've had at least 2 different friends give me crap for it. For me, it's a safety factor: by backing into the space, you have almost no risk of accidentally backing into someone or something when you leave. But it seems like half the time I pull in forwards, I end up with a pedestrian hanging out in my blind spot or something on the way out. I just find it way easier and safer to back in first.enframed wrote:I could be wrong, but it's one of those things that I think says a lot about a personality.I would be curious to hear more about this.Exactly.At my workplace it's a safety requirement that you reverse park any vehicle at all times. So now when I'm driving for "leisure" I just do it out of habit. The safety thing sounds reasonable. I hadn't thought of that because, well, I have mirrors and use them. So, OK, you'll run over the pedestrian forwards instead of backwards. If that's the reason people do it, fine. Just seems like it's always "bros" doing it around here, hence my conclusion into personality. My conclusion is now that bros care about not running over people backwards.

Some douchebag riding your back bumper in the left lane-- then you're finally able to get over and let him pass, but he NEVER PASSES YOU. He just hugs your left rear quarter panel. What the actual fuck?

But it remains a pet peeve for me when a few things happen: many people are really bad at it and end up parking diagonally across two parking spaces, and there's always someone who doesn't back up enough and blocks my view of traffic when it's my time to leave, when I almost run into someone who isn't following the parking lot safety guideline of not driving 30 miles per hour.

People who drop names, people who get overly excited when meeting someone who's 'famous' or well known for something. Immediately, they go on my 'never take this person seriously' list.
