I had to fix my Rusty Box power supply the other week. The usual wall wart power supply stressed cable crap. It's because I keep it in my bass case, totally my fault.Anyway I feel so much better now that I've successfully popped the top on it and done the repair. Because I know that if it happens again the fix is just a soldering iron away, and fucked if I've seen any other 30v power supplies around. I called up the guy at the importers and he said he couldn't get any. He recommended I go home and put it corner to corner in a vise and squeeze, and hopefully the top will pop off, which it did.It was a slightly stressful moment as I had discovered the problem at soundcheck and only had a few hours to get it working. And the Rusty Box is my preamp. The rarity of the power supply is something that's always been in the back of my mind ever since I started depending on it. But since I've got the top off I feel like I can stop worrying.

Anyone got a Rusty Box they're not using and would want to sell? Kind of regret selling mine now, and would like to get one back in my pedal arsenal.

I'm tempted to get another one sometime just for additional piece of mind. I got myself an SKB case for my head now so I think I'm gonna mount/store everything in there, which might provide the power supply with a more nurturing environment.Do you also sell extra knobs, or can you direct me to the knob supplier? I also cracked my volume knob in half the other week. I could have just glued it back together but half of it got left behind on stage, fuck it.(This all makes me sound like I treat my gear terribly, but I have done a ton of gigs with the Rusty Box over the last couple years and it has held up great)

I just want to say that I got a rusty box two weeks ago and this pedal is amazing.I use it at home with a squier vi through a orange tiny terror combo and it sounds fantastic. I tried it with a crappy Warwick amp and it also sounds very good. Now I want a four string long scale bass so bad...

It is a magical pedal in that it makes any shitty bass and/or any shitty amp sound serviceable, if not great.
