i was totally unaware of this thread until last night, when mr. devin FMajicweoirjekx was watching Terminator II with the sound down in my living room, blasting the YouTube video of Hoogie Boogie Land

regardless of the rest of the discussion regarding the zone, thinking while playing, void and royal trux, etc. - the one thing that came to mind was that these guys reminded me of a time in my life where my then band was playing alot of shows with skingraft records bands...these guys would totally fit those bills and would have a crowd of skinny vicodin addict art fags eating it up.

upon listening to the new version of Hoogie Boogie Land, the first 20 or 30 seconds sound exactly like later era Black Flag...

i'm a fan.

I'm pretty sure Complete is essentially the opposite of Rush. If I were to make a line representing every band I know and put Rush at one end, Complete would occupy the other and everything else would fall somewhere between. If there is a band out there that is less like Rush, I should like to know.

I'd say both bands are just about as self-serious.

What a fantastic idea. I think I might come to appreciate this film.

Dude.

Terminator II is a horrible movie. Untill you turn the sound off and listen to Complete. Then it's awesome. I'm serious.

Listen to Complete long enough, with Terminator II on the TV,and you will be treated to at least ONE moment where it looks like Arnold is deadpanning "BEAUTIFUL SUNRISE ALL THE TIIIIIIIIIIIME!"

And it will be snowing and you won't' have to work the next day and, dude, seriously dude, what the fuck else are you gonna do. 'Cause Complete is fucking awesome.
