Saints Row 2, GTA clone from 2008. The name is familiar to me. Haven't played the first one but it doesn't appear necessary.
The city seems to lack a little in character - no memorable or eye-catching location or landmark so far. Some of the controls are a bit wonky and shittily console-ported. To select a weapon you hold down Q and wiggle the mouse like the analog stick - impossible to do quickly. Why not just let me use the mouse wheel? Like come on, GTA already perfected these types of controls, why you gotta go mess it up? Spraying tags for the side mission is way more frustrating than it should be.
Also annoying is that everytime you exit an ingame menu it asks "do you want to exit? y/n". Yes of course I do. Why would I not?
Other than that, it's entertaining in the expected ways.
Re: What Video Games Are You Playing?
292Never dug GTA aesthetics but I also like to just wander through big open worlds, specially post apocalyptic/fantasy scenarios (Fallout, Stalker, Skyrim...) it's my fave way to play from the get go, just take my time to do stuff , most of the time ignoring the main missions.emmanuelle cunt wrote: Tue Sep 05, 2023 4:24 am I keep going back to GTA V, just doing random stuff (mostly flying) in single player mode somewhere around the half point in the story mode. The map is so detailed I just enjoy exploring it, I constantly wish there was more to do, kine like in Witcher 3, and/or there were single player expansion packs like in GTA IV. I tried online mode, I was confused by it.

293This is kinda where I'm at w/ TOTK. I have unlocked 3/4 sages and am just taking my time mostly an hour here/there mostly farming lynels/lizalfos for armor upgrades (and trying to find all the armors without using the internet which is quite a challenge)Vibracobra wrote: Sat Sep 09, 2023 7:46 amNever dug GTA aesthetics but I also like to just wander through big open worlds, specially post apocalyptic/fantasy scenarios (Fallout, Stalker, Skyrim...) it's my fave way to play from the get go, just take my time to do stuff , most of the time ignoring the main missions.emmanuelle cunt wrote: Tue Sep 05, 2023 4:24 am I keep going back to GTA V, just doing random stuff (mostly flying) in single player mode somewhere around the half point in the story mode. Re: What Video Games Are You Playing?
294I think BG3 is the best video game I have ever played. its just insanely well done.
Re: What Video Games Are You Playing?
295Was disappointed to read that there are no plans to release any DLC for Tears of the Kingdom.
After doing tweak-head level of completionist (collecting ALL of the korok seeds for example) on Master Mode of BOTW, I have been finding TOTK to be super easy game play. Was really shocked to read that many players have been saying this game is much harder than the predecessor which I guess if you didn't do master mode, maybe.
Of course, one could do self-restricted game play but meh.

Re: What Video Games Are You Playing?
297I've played through those games numerous times throughout the years. I don't sense that thing you're talking about. The newer games are if anything more linear.

298I bought myself a Vectrex last week. I don't have a flash cartridge yet so I only have three games to play, but when the flash cartridge arrives I am looking forward to doing a bit of programming on it myself. Who could resist programming something for a vector display? Not me. The Vectrex is cool as fuck.
Re: What Video Games Are You Playing?
299Just started Outer Wilds. I see why it was so well regarded. The space travel balances realism with fun perfectly.
Re: What Video Games Are You Playing?
300I had a vectrex. It looked so cool and the games were actually really fun. Controllers are terrible. Cable is way too short. I had some game where you had to pilot these little drill machines into the center of some geometry. Good times.Anthony Flack wrote: Sat Sep 16, 2023 5:00 pm I bought myself a Vectrex last week.
