The Golsings "Grandeur of Hair" on aRCHIVE is masterful, as is that new live Sadies CD.

I suprised myself when I found my most recent musical excitement from a little record called Orange, by a band called Asobi Seksu. So good!

The last band to truly raise a level of excitement in me was PISSED JEANS. I assure you they're the best thing on the current Sub Pop roster.

before that it was BORIS.

there's a band called tar..feathers that has one song up on their myspace that i really like. it's the first one

www.myspace.com/tarfeathers

it kind of reminds me of modest mouse, old k records stuff

then there's another song called 'no more like that' by this one-man-band called eiafuawn

www.myspace.com/eiafuawn

and i think that's really neat.

lately there hasn't been any album where all/almost all the songs excited me.. um maybe chan vangaalen's 'infiniheart'.. i thought that was pretty creative.

sufjan stevens always has little bits and pieces of fun stuff but i find all his songs are just one part that keeps getting embellished with more and more instruments, and i'm not super interested in that for some reason.

this is super lame, but i borrowed a copy of ryan adam's 'heartbreaker' and listened to it while driving overnight and i enjoyed it.

i kind of wish the kinsellas would pull their shit together and concentrate their ideas into one solid record, rather than put out 6000000 things that are mostly airy space and random noise.
