If anyone starts shit around me, I call the cops. Sometimes they come, sometimes they don't. Thankfully they are pretty quick around my house.
Last night my girlfriend and I heard some yelling in the alley between me and the 'greens next door. I looked out to se one huge dude on top of a scrawny guy. The big guy was yelling "bitch" and punching the other guy in the face a bunch, kind of like tough-guy tickle-torture. Some other white guy (drunk) looked as if he was officiating. One of the three dudes owned a bright yellow Hummer.
Anywho, a couple more people showed, more yelling and fighting, then everyone left when the cops showed.
Unless it's someone I know or a kid involved, I don't bother poking my head out, yelling to them, or anything else that would give someone an excuse to fuck with me or my house. That's just retarded.

A while ago, if I remember correctly, there was a thread about the po-lice on this forum and some folks were all 'the pigs are scum!!' etc etc.

I wonder how they feel about everyone here saying that the ideal course of action is to phone the pigs to sort out the situation?

Really, any anti-police types around here who think those who think calling the police are scum for associating with the police?

Never really got the "pig-bashing" thing, except when I was 15 and briefly believed myself to be some kind of anarchist or something.

There have been many examples of the Police abusing their power in the UK. And I'm sure there's a fairly strong element of wankers in the UK Police Force. All the same, most Police men and women I've encountered have been fine, and some have even been really nice. Plus people seem to forget that they are merely enforcing the law, not making it.

Anyhows, I must be getting old.

Man, if you lived where I lived the police would have been there in seconds. They love nothing more than beating the shit out of 18-24 year olds. When they have a good reason it's just the icing on the cake.

My recent essay was on this sort of thing, I myself has been known to quote the all pigs are bastards motto. The sad thing is the police i've met have been in my eyes hypocrites and often go with the one rule for them and and another for everyone else. I sat in my local a little while ago chatting to a lady who was talking about coke and how she likes a sniff and so do her friends, turned out she was a copper as is the house mate of a friend who doesn't mind people having a puff around her. Cool for her mates but not so cool for everyone else she nicks while in uniform. I know it's a different ball game to the violence question as I doubt we would like to see vigilantes wandering around dishing out justice. They may be merely enforcing the law and not making it but they chose to uphold these laws while at the same time making their own minds up about it when they choose to.

My ex's dad was a top copper and and I had to sit listening to him reminisce about bashing wogs.......nice one..............pig bastard! The brass on his wall commemorating the miners riots left a real nasty taste in my mouth.

And, of course, there is always the question of what one is supposed to do when the said sickeningly violents are in fact cops stamping some poor unfortunate ('wog' or miner or whoever)?


If you have concluded that the Pigs are nothing but a vigilante gang in a uniform what's wrong with a vigilante gang not in a uniform?

Fair point, I think the large scope for error by the local hard nut and his mates might just sway that for me.
