actually there is a guy promoting his book about LZ and other famous rip offs

Not only did they steal all those blues songs that everyone already knows about, but Stairway to Heaven is a 90% cover of a song from a band that used to open for them. Talk about being a bunch of shitty fuck faces.

You're the second person that I've heard mention that Stairway thing in a week. Do you know the details?

Okay, I looked it up. It was the song Taurus from Spirit. There is a part in it that repeats a few times that is the same progression as Stairway but played slightly different. Given the connection between the two bands it's not hard to see that Page almost surely took the idea from them.

While I was listening to it it reminded me of Time In A Bottle, but I haven't heard that in quite a while, so I could be really off in that comparision.

Page straight up asked Randy California to use that riff in Stairway. Randy gave him the go-ahead, and later on LZ blew the fuck up with it. I think Taurus is the more beautiful song, but what do I know about music?

I'll add Motorhead - No Class / ZZ Top - Tush.

This is the funniest thing I've seen all day.

As much as Zep's plagarism pisses me off, has anyone heard You Need Loving by the Small Faces? Both ripped off from the same Willie Dixon song but only Zep got sued.
