EA NEW YEAR S EVE FESTIVAL ? ?

Bonne idée!

The major stumble for me is that I could be in NY for New Year.

If not, I would definitely be interested in a European event. London or Paris would not be difficult for me.

Neither would Koeln/Cologne, Amsterdam or Lille to offer other options with train/plane coordinates.

Brussels has some nices venues but the potential ones have established New Year events. I will probably get shot down by Belgians for also suggesting Brussels does not have a rich vein in musicians either.

i believe chris is asking about everyones monetary status because you're proposing to organise a gig during possibly the busiest and most expensive time of the year.

For instance, at the proposed venue where you want to book the gig, the staff will want to be paid triple their usual rate.

And even trying to find a venue that is either (a) available to hire or (b) open at that time of year will be a challenge in itself...

A little advice on plane tickets, flying out on Xmas day morning and back on new years day morning will save you a ton of cash. It'll suck making it to the airport on New Years day but it'll save you a shitload of cash. Those first flights are empty and they just wanna fill them, they have to run them because the flights later in the day are packed.

Call and talk to an actual person, you cannot get the deals by going through the regular booking channels (online, etc). The sooner you do it the better.

OK OK guyz !
i was not talking about a regular festival !
more like a party/convention/ semi private meeting, where bands can play.

i was not thinking about a regular venue with staff to pay.
I was more thinking about renting a space and make it all ourselves.
it don't have to be strucutured like a regular festival.
but if it's that difficult to make it happens in London,

does everyone is on for PARIS ???

(plus i'm sure that we can find some really cool and quiet places not that far from Paris, on the country side where we can all stay and sleep to)

about the money, a eurostar ticket London/paris is less than 100 euros, if some of you have a car you can share it and divide the costs...you know...

now talking about bands, who is in ?

Who is online
