Totally agree. That said, the wife and I will once a year or so make chili from scratch
just to make chili dogs, and those are superb. Doubtful that most places are putting in that kind of work. Got a semi-gag gift can of "
Michigan Sauce" from my Father-in-law which stayed in the pantry for forever until we finally broke down and tried it. Full gag gift. Jesus, people.
