Love Catherine O'Hara. Not a fan of Schitt's Creek. My office is quote-happy from that show today and it's all going over my head.

I've seen the word rejigger twice today, before which I don't ever recall hearing it. I had to look it up because I always thought jigger used as a verb meant "to alter or change." Rejigger means the same fucking thing. English usage is so stupid sometimes.

I get my work pants at Costco and at the end of 2024 I bought a pair one size down from what I usually wear in the hopes I'd be able to eventually fit into them. I put them on today and they fit nice and snug.

Little detail from this week: I am not at all a goal-oriented person, but after my wife and I decided to watch 31 horror movies in October and made it happen with a three-movie rally on Halloween, I figured maybe goals are kinda fun. I do yoga intermittently, usually no more than three or four days in a row, but in early January I decided to try for 31 days in a row. I hit 30 on Sunday, then forgot on Monday and missed the 31st day. No biggie, got right back at it the next day. This probably figures into my fitting into the pants.

I had no idea whelm is a word, thanks for that.

But not quote the same, seems to me.

Whelm still, from what I can find, refers to if not water then a physical covering, turning over, burying; while overwhelm is used in regards to everything not physical. It could be used that way, but isn't.

Mmmm...I think whelmed is an "action verb" meaning that the subject is doing it, and overwhelmed is a "causitive verb" meaning that something was done to the subject. (not sure if my definitions are correct, but I believe my logic is) "The skier whelmed in the avalanche" vs. "The skier was overwhelmed by the avalanche".

Jigger on the other hand is a little more subtle, in that for me it would denote a first pass at arranging...while re-jigger would be to rearrange (a subsequent pass). At least that's how I would use it.

I had a dream last night that an all black hardcore band called Gravebreath rocked my face off at a comic book convention. I woke up sad to learn that Gravebreath is not real.
